Daniel Ricciardo qualified twelfth in Monza and his teammate Yuki Tsunoda crashed out of the race in the first session…
Daniel Ricciardo (12th): “I am quite happy with the fast lap, I didn’t think it was possible to achieve more. After the morning training I knew it wouldn’t be easy to qualify for the final, but in the end I was very close to the top ten.
The results from eighth to twentieth place are very close, the battle in the race will be intense. I look forward to being proven right tomorrow.”
Yuki Tsunoda (16th): “On Friday we were seriously inferior, but with every session we improved, narrowing the gap, but it wasn’t enough.
“I’m angry that we couldn’t figure everything out and that there were still some unclear issues with the car. Overall I’m happy with my lap but I’m not happy with the lack of speed. Our cars are a bit different, which will help us draw conclusions.”
