Oscar Piastri will start second in Monza and hopes for a productive race…
Oscar Piastri: “I am an eighth Italian, so I can consider the Italian Grand Prix at least partly as my home race and I am already looking forward to the start. Competing in Italy is always interesting and fun, especially in Monza. In my opinion, this is one of the best races of the year.
Yesterday I was a bit upset, but if I can win today it will definitely help to cheer me up. During qualifying I did everything I could to win pole position, and although I didn’t succeed, today we can try to solve the problem because there is quite a long acceleration on the approach to Turn 1.
But I think we have a difficult race ahead of us, because our task will be complicated by the behavior of the tires. However, I still hope that today I can make up for yesterday and drive a good Italian Grand Prix. We will see how everything goes, but I will try to fight for the victory.
“On Friday we had good pace over a long series of laps, although all the top teams are pretty much equal in terms of ability, so I predict there will be a lot of competitors in the fight for the win. I think the fans will have a lot of fun!”
