Charles Leclerc’s victory is the ideal result of the Italian Grand Prix for Ferrari, and of course Frederic Vasseur, the head of the Scuderia, is delighted with this outcome of the weekend in Monza, together with the entire team.
Frederic Vasseur: “It was a good weekend. After qualifying we were a bit upset, although we showed good pace. But the race went well.
From the very beginning of the season I believed that we were probably doing a little bit better in terms of race pace than in qualifying, and today that was confirmed again. Everything went well and this can be considered an ideal result.
To be honest, last year our weakest point was the tyre wear during the race, but this season we solved this problem, which has become one of our advantages. The tyres of the SF-24 are quite stable and drivers are very good at controlling the tyre temperature. All this makes me happy.
We understood that if both drivers would complete the race with only one pit stop, Carlos could help us implement this tactic. Importantly, he also helped the team by informing us about the behaviour of the tyres. I am convinced that everyone did their part and did a great job, so I am just happy!”
