In 2024, Oliver Berman and Kimi Antonelli will compete for the Prema team in Formula 2, and in 2025 they will spend their first full season in Formula 1. If Kimi makes his debut with Mercedes, behind the wheel of which he can claim podiums and, possibly, victories, then Oliver will play for the Haas team, which occasionally claims points. Berman insists that he does not envy Antonelli.
Oliver Berman: “I can’t say that the news about Kimi’s contract was unexpected! No, just kidding, I’m very happy for him. We had to wait quite a long time for the announcement. There were a lot of conversations and when your future is officially announced, it’s a very nice feeling. Especially when Mercedes announces a contract with you.
“I am very happy for him and I am not jealous of him. I also have a place in Formula 1, and that is the most important thing. The density of results is now very high and I feel that I can also fight for the points next year. So I wish him all the best and I am happy that we will be at the start together next year.”
