This weekend, Goodwood is hosting the traditional nostalgia festival Goodwood Revival, which brings together British fans of antique cars, including Christian Horner.
The festival programme also includes a competition for the best retro-style outfit, and the entire family of the head of Red Bull Racing will be taking part: Christian himself, his wife Geri Halliwell, a former member of the famous Spice Girls, and their 7-year-old son Monty.
They were all dressed in 1930s fashion, and it’s not so easy to recognize Horner in his fedora and stylish gray tweed jacket – after all, we’re used to seeing him in the uniform of the champion Formula 1 team.
Today they accompanied their son, who took part in pedal car races – these cars, by the way, also belonged to the ‘vintage’ category.
Of course, Horner also races for fun at Goodwood, driving an old, front-wheel drive small car from the famous Mini brand, and although the track’s asphalt was flooded with rain, he coped with the job no worse than the same Max Verstappen.
He is, after all, a former racer, although he often says in interviews that he decided to become a team leader when he realized he had no special talent for speed. He knows better, but judging by how skillfully he kept his orange Mini with license plate 55 on the track and how impetuously he overtook, he is simply modest.
