This year, Kevin Magnussen will end his Formula 1 career for the second time. In 2020, he was fired by Haas F1 boss Guenther Steiner, the Dane returned and competed for three more years, until another team boss, Ayo Komatsu, started extending his contract. Kevin said he has no regrets.
Kevin Magnussen: “Honestly, was it fun? I don’t regret anything. After Formula 1, my life changed. A child was born, a new phase in my life with my family started – and this experience was really interesting for us. Mentally, I closed Formula 1 for myself.
The call to come back came as I was sitting on the beach with a drink in my hand. I panicked on the way to the airport and then found myself in the pits, sunburned and ready for a new adventure.
I was already an experienced Formula 1 driver and knew what to expect. I understood that not everything would go smoothly, that after the joy of an unexpected return everything would return to normal.”
