Aston Martin was pleased with the results of Friday’s practice session for the Azerbaijan Grand Prix. Fernando Alonso and Lance Stroll tested different versions of the AMR24 floorpan, and now engineers will have to choose the one the team will continue to use for the rest of the weekend.
Lance walk (7th): “During the first practice session, Fernando and I were doing comparative tests of different options for the underbody of the car. In the evening, together with the engineers, we analyse the data collected and choose the best option to move forward.
The team is doing everything to get the maximum speed out of the AMR24. Let’s see what we can do to prepare ourselves as best as possible for tomorrow’s qualifying.”
Fernando Alonso (12th): “During Friday’s training the team gathered useful information, which we will analyse tonight together with the engineers.
Today we tested several solutions, and now it’s a matter of choosing which one works best and which settings we need to select to qualify.”
