In ten days, Kimi Raikkonen is due to start the NASCAR race at Watkins Glen on the famous American road-type circuit, having not driven a car of this class in over ten years.
The Finnish Formula 1 veteran will spend the rest of his time with the Trackhouse Racing team preparing and adapting to the racing version of the Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 (such cars have been used in NASCAR since 2018) and has already started building working on the simulator.
Daniel Suarez, the main team Mexican pilot, who is playing in the NASCAR Major League for its fifth season and won this year’s race in Sonoma, helps Kimi understand the idiosyncrasies of driving such a technique.
Apparently Raikkonen is really passionate about the process and basically takes this marketing project with all seriousness and will try to show a good result, although he himself claims that he is not up for sports duties.
