Daniel Ricciardo: I will try to earn points in Singapore

RB drivers Daniel Ricciardo and Yuki Tsunoda failed to score points for three consecutive stages and will hope to break this failed streak at the upcoming Singapore Grand Prix.

Daniel Ricciardo: “I really like the Marina Bay circuit, it’s one of my favourites. I didn’t compete last year, so now I’m looking forward to coming back.

Singapore is very hot and humid, which makes it even more difficult. I hope we can do better than in Baku. The team is working hard to understand the causes of the problems and improve. I am happy to be back at this circuit and will try to earn some points.”

Yuki Tsunoda: “I am looking forward to spending the weekend in Singapore without any problems. The main task of the team is to try to reach the qualifying final, where we were very close on the stage in Baku.

There will be a long and physically difficult race in Singapore. This is not so much because of the heat and humidity, which I don’t really suffer from, but because of the peculiarities of driving – there is no time to catch your breath on this track, acceleration alternates with braking, and you have to use the gearbox more often than on any other race track.

There is almost always a safety car on the track, so you have to be ready to use this possibility. In addition, you have to take into account the serious improvement in track conditions during the weekend – in qualifying it could be three seconds faster compared to the first practice. Last year the organizers removed some slow corners, so it was more fun to fly.”
