Fernando Alonso scored points for Aston Martin in Singapore, while his teammate Lance Stroll finished 14th…
Fernando Alonso (8th): “It was a physically difficult race, but we did it and earned a few points. We used ‘undercutting’ in the fight against rivals, by changing tyres a few laps earlier, and it worked.
To be honest, the car was not easy to drive all weekend, but in the end we achieved a very good result and finished just a few seconds behind Ferrari.
We will be working hard at Silverstone over the coming weeks to improve our results for Austin.”
Lance walk (14th): “Difficult weekend in Singapore. In the exit lap I felt a strange vibration, the team took action quickly to replace the brake set as a precaution. Many thanks to the mechanics, they solved this problem quickly in this heat.
“We knew the race would be difficult and had the same problems as yesterday: with grip and balance. In Austin we have a completely different circuit, let’s hope it suits our car better.”
