Max Verstappen finished second in Singapore. The Red Bull Racing driver was unable to challenge winner Lando Norris, but considering the difficulties the team faced this weekend, Max is happy with the result. In the individual competition, Verstappen’s lead over Norris was reduced to 52 points.
His teammate Sergio Perez scored one point for tenth place.
Max Verstappen (2nd): “I ran the race alone. I tried to do my best and rode at my own pace until the finish. The first segment was quite difficult due to the quite noticeable degradation of the rubber, but in the second segment the situation improved a bit. I felt much more comfortable while riding.
We knew we would have problems this weekend, so second place is a good result. Of course, we can’t be satisfied with second position – we need to improve significantly, and we will try to do it.
The situation in the individual competition can change quickly. You have to keep trying so that you don’t always end up behind. Let’s see how it all turns out.”
Sergio Perez (10th): “Unfortunately we couldn’t get the best possible result today. It’s a shame, but now we have to prepare for the last races of the season.
The race turned into a nightmare, a complete disaster. I had serious problems with the balance of the car. We waited for the safety car and postponed the first segment, which made us lose time.
The car still needs some fine-tuning, but the upcoming circuits should suit us better.”
