Former Formula 1 team owner Eddie Jordan believes the Alpine team will be among the frontrunners in the coming years. According to Jordan, the key to success will be the return of Flavio Briatore to Enstone.
Eddie Jordan: “Flavio was a special person during my time in Formula 1. I just hated him for some things, but loved him for others. But you know, he does what he says, and he gave me his word: ‘I promise you, Eddie, that Alpine will be on the podium in 2026 or 2027.’
I am not going to argue with Flavio because I agree with him. He has a magic wand, with the wave of which everything happens. Flavio wants to build the best car, which will of course attract the best driver to the team. This is his philosophy.
Other teams go a different route. They invite the best rider first and then see what can be done. That’s what Ferrari did when they invited Lewis Hamilton.”
