Robin Raikkonen won his first championship

We have talked more than once about Robin Raikkonen’s successes in karting, and today we can congratulate him and the entire Kimi family: the 9-year-old racer won his first title.

Robin became the champion of the Swiss Rotax Max Challenge series in the Micro class, as his mother, Minttu Raikkonen, announced on social networks.

In the short video she shared, Robin can be seen, after finishing the next race in the Swiss city of Wolen, opening a bottle of some kind of carbonated drink and deftly pouring the contents over the people around her. Including his younger sister Rihanna, and at the same time he laughs mischievously. Of course, We Are The Champions, a classic Queen hit, plays in the background.

Today’s last race of the season took place in the rain, but Robin did excellently and after the results became champion in the Micro class with a very convincing advantage, having won the most stages of this junior championship.

Gino Rosato, his godfather and one of Kimi’s best friends since Ferrari, commented on the young driver’s performance: “I just have no words. You dominated the entire season and are one step closer to Formula 1! You’re just an Ace!

Rosato primarily meant that the boy’s full name is Robin Ace Räikkönen, i.e. his middle name can also be translated this way. Although the names obviously cannot be translated and the brand new Swiss champion is actually called Robin Ace.

But the season is not over for him yet, as the Micro class champion will receive a ticket for the final series of Rotax Max Challenge Grand Finals, which will be held from October 19 to 26 in the Italian city of Sarno.
