Red Bull Racing brought updates during the last Emilia-Romagna Grand Prix in Imola. And while Max Verstappen said it’s impossible to judge the contribution technical innovations have made to increasing the car’s competitiveness, the result is quite eloquent: the team took its first double win since 2016.
Rivals will have to prepare their response to Red Bull Racing, but Ferrari boss Mattia Binotto confirmed the team has no intention of bringing any serious new items to the next stage in Miami: less clamping force. However, larger updates will be installed on the machine at a later date.”
Commenting on Charles Leclerc’s mistake on lap 53 of the race, which cost him the podium, Binotto said: “The mistake has nothing to do with pressure as drivers are used to always driving at the limit. This year the car has a stiffer suspension and if you drive too high on the curb you can lose control.”
