After winning three out of four races before the summer break, the Mercedes car suddenly lost momentum. Mercedes technical director James Allison promises to return it so that Lewis Hamilton can end his time with the team with a good result.
James Ellison: “After Singapore we worked on the issues that arose there, trying to figure out how we could make the tires perform better on hot tarmac.
There is still a lot of work to be done to prepare our final update for the season. I hope this helps us in Austin. We need to demonstrate the progress we have made and prepare for the final races of the season.
We are nearing the end of our journey with Lewis, now every race weekend is a unique event that cannot be repeated. It’s a shame that his 350th race took place on a weekend when the car was not in its best condition. I hope we can celebrate his 351st race on a grand scale in Austin.”
