Imola hosts the traditional Minardi festival

On the last weekend of August, the Enzo and Dino Ferrari circuit in Imola will host for the sixth time the traditional Minardi Historic Day festival, dedicated to the contribution of this small team from Faenza to Italian and world motorsport. If anyone has forgotten, AlphaTauri/Toro Rosso was created on the basis of Minardi.

The festival will be held on August 27 and 28 and will showcase more than 360 cars of different construction years and different racing classes – F1, F2, F3, F3000, GP2, Formula Italia, as well as sports prototypes and vehicles of the Gran Turismo category. Most of these cars will participate in demonstration races.

In addition, the festival program includes presentations of several new books by Italian authors devoted to racing and drivers. These will mainly be biographies of Gilles Villeneuve, Chris Amon and Elio de Angelis.

And, of course, there will be an auction, including various types of historical equipment and plenty of memorabilia related to the sport’s heroes of recent years – from Tazio Nuvolari to Michael Schumacher.
