McLaren team boss Andrea Stella is pleased that his rivals have spent a lot of time and effort studying the design of the rear wing of his cars…
Andrea Stella: “I’m happy that our rear wing has attracted so much attention. This meant that the rivals were not focused on their car, but looked around.
Formula 1 is a complex marginal game. I constantly tell my team, “Focus on yourself.”
When so much attention is focused on one team, rivals work in this direction, analyzing and communicating with the FIA. They waste their time and energy on nonsense, which distracts them from what is most important. And I, as a representative of McLaren, am very happy with this.
We prepare technical solutions that can be quite complex, but fully comply with regulations. If rivals prefer to destroy others’ ideas rather than implement their own, let them continue. We are completely satisfied with this.”
