The RB team is completing construction of a new wind tunnel in Milton Keynes, which will be operational at the end of 2024 and should help in the battle against rivals.
The old tube at Bicester is so outdated that the team no longer uses it, because they are renting a wind tunnel from Red Bull Racing, and the new tube could be an additional asset when selling the team. In addition, Red Bull Racing engineers can also develop individual solutions with it.
Laurent Mekis, team leader: “The old pipe is outdated and does not meet modern standards. We are building an incredibly high-quality facility for our people in Milton Keynes, which will improve their working conditions and make the team more attractive in the job market.
We didn’t have the best base in Bicester, now we have a good base in Faenza and we will have a great base in Milton Keynes which will allow us to challenge the stronger teams.”
