Epstein: If Ricciardo comes, we won’t let him get bored

Smiling and positive, Daniel Ricciardo is one of the most recognizable Formula 1 drivers in the United States, partly thanks to the Drive to Survive series. Following his dismissal from RB, the Australian is unlikely to come to Austin, but if it does happen, US Grand Prix boss Bobby Epstein believes it won’t be boring.

Bobby Epstein: “Daniel is very popular during our Grand Prix, both behind the wheel and outside the car. I’m not sure people will buy tickets to see him race in a car that isn’t competitive, but as a member of the Formula 1 community he has and will attract a lot of attention.

He is very popular in Texas. I think he likes it here too. I hope he becomes more accessible to the fans than when he drove himself and had obligations to the team.

I hope Daniel still comes. Many would like to shake his hand, get an autograph or take a photo. And just to see him in town. We won’t let him get bored!”
