1992 world champion Nigel Mansell believes if Adrian Newey turns Aston Martin into a championship contender it will be the crowning achievement of his career.
Nigel Mansell: “Adrian will be able to quickly turn things around at Aston Martin. I think they will be more competitive next year and get better results than this season, although 2026 is definitely a work in progress.
After the loss of Newey, Red Bull no longer dominates the championship. We were once again convinced of the caliber of this specialist. Aston Martin did everything right in getting him, and if the team wins with him it will be the most important achievement of his career.
Many people underestimate this factor, but he was completely happy not at Red Bull in recent years. Now, in Britain, with Aston Martin, he will feel powerful and motivated again. If he feels comfortable, and I’m sure he will at Aston Martin, he can do something special.”
