Pirelli is preparing a new C6 tire compound for 2025

Next season, Pirelli plans to expand its range of tire compounds for Formula 1 teams.

In addition to the standard compound C1, C2, C3, C4 and C5, a new super soft compound C6 will be available in the new season. The new product is created with city circuits in mind, which have recently become increasingly popular on the Formula 1 calendar.

In addition to working on the new compound, Pirelli engineers have further refined the design and compounds of the 2025 tires to ensure greater safety and performance. The homologation period for the tire design for the 2025 season ended on September 1, but work on the rubber compound continues during testing. The teams will receive the final tire options for next year during testing in Abu Dhabi after the last race of the season.

However, in the second practice session of the Mexico City Grand Prix, all teams will have prototypes of the soft connections C4 and C5. To test the new tires, the session duration will be extended from 60 to 90 minutes. It is expected that the Italian tire makers will also bring several sets of C6, so that the teams can get their first impression of the new product this month.
