Felipe Drugovich goes driving in Mexico City

Aston Martin reserve and test driver Felipe Drugovich will take part in the first free practice of the Mexico City Grand Prix. The Brazilian driver will replace Fernando Alonso. In the second training session, Alonso will get behind the wheel again and spend the rest of the race weekend.

Felipe Drugovich: “I’m really excited to ride the AMR24 for the first time – I’ve been waiting for this moment for a long time! I have spent most of the season refining this car in the simulator, so it is important for me to evaluate the correlation between the simulator and the real car.

I have not ridden the Rodriguez Brothers Circuit before. The track is challenging, with long straights and technical corners, meaning a lot of time will be spent on the simulator in preparation for the first practice session. I thank Aston Martin for their trust and opportunity.”

Mike KrakTeam boss: “We are happy to give Felipe the opportunity to drive the AMR24 for the first time during the first free practice in Mexico City. He regularly works in the simulator at Silverstone, providing detailed and thoughtful feedback to the car, so it will be useful for him to go out on a real track.

During practice, Felipe will have to work according to the team’s plan and collect data that will help make decisions about the car settings during the weekend.”

The last time Felipe Drugovich got behind the wheel in the official session of the race weekend was during the first practice session of the 2023 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.
