David Coulthard retired from racing ten years ago, having spent three more seasons in the DTM touring car series after Formula 1, but he is not losing contact with motorsport, although acting in a slightly different capacity.
He is known not only as a popular TV commentator, but also as a regular participant in Red Bull’s clever marketing projects, with the Scot driving the team’s cars in different countries, and in conditions as far from racing as possible.
This time he raced through the streets of Leipzig in a two-seater racing car, and his passenger was Swedish footballer Emil Forsberg, who plays in the Bundesliga for the club RB Leipzig, and also plays for his country’s national team. Incidentally, this unusual vehicle is equipped with a classic 3-litre naturally aspirated V10 engine – which were used in Formula 1 until 2005.
They drove from the Leipzig football stadium to a nightclub, stopping at various local attractions along the way. If you haven’t been to this German city yet, the new Red Bull video will be a kind of video tour for you, and if you have, it will surely bring back some pleasant memories…
