Williams prepares to celebrate Albon’s 100th race

The US Grand Prix will be Alex Albon’s 100th race in Formula 1, and Williams is preparing to mark the event in a special way: a special logo will appear on its FW46 during the Austin weekend.

Alex is approaching the end of his fifth season in Formula 1, during which time he has achieved 240 points and two podium finishes in Toro Rosso, Red Bull Racing and Williams cars.

On Wednesday he will appear at the British team’s fan zone in Austin to greet fans and answer their questions, and will also unveil a mural commemorating his sporting achievements. In addition, the public attending the event can purchase special merchandise released by the team in honor of Albon’s 100th race.

Alex Albon: “This weekend my 100th Grand Prix takes place in Austin: I can’t even believe I’ve reached this important milestone. Over the past five years I have experienced some of the most difficult and joyful times, so I am grateful for literally every minute I have spent in Formula 1.

This is a good reason to look back and reflect on the path I’ve taken and the progress I’ve made. I’m honored to celebrate here in Austin with Williams, as this is another home race for both our team and owners Dorilton Capital. I hope I can earn points for the team, then this weekend will be even more special.”

Franco Colapinto: “It’s great that the upcoming series of three races in a row will be held very close to my home country. This weekend will be my first time at COTA and my first sprint in Formula 1.

It won’t be easy to reach the required level of speed as there will only be an hour of training before qualifying for the sprint, but I have a determined fighting spirit. During the break between races at the team base in Grove I worked on the simulator and tried to prepare as best as possible.

Finally, we congratulate Alex on his upcoming 100th race – a glorious achievement of which he can be proud. I hope that together with the team we will celebrate this event with a good result.”

James Vowlesteam boss: “Congratulations to Alex on his 100th race in Formula 1. At the previous 99 Grand Prix, Alex proved himself to be one of the fastest and most motivated drivers in the championship, and we are pleased that he has decided to continue his long-term future to Williams to help the team rise to higher positions. I look forward to celebrating this week with him and our passionate fans.”
