Marco: All teams know that our system is legal

Helmut Marko responded to McLaren boss Zac Brown, who calls for a thorough investigation into Red Bull due to the presence in the car of a technical solution that theoretically makes it possible to change the ride height in a ‘closed park’.

Red Bull’s motorsport adviser thinks the hype surrounding the championship team could be an attempt to divert attention from other issues.

“The system is absolutely legal and all teams know about it,” Helmut Marko told Sky F1 Italy. “We informed the FIA in advance, that goes without saying.

We do not have the option to change the ride height settings between qualifying and the race. This is the most important thing, so there is nothing illegal about the design. And the FIA knows this. No sanctions have been imposed against us; we didn’t have to change anything now.

I don’t understand where all this talk comes from. Maybe someone wants to divert attention from other problems.”
