The sprint on the American circuit in Austin was quite interesting, although it was won by the driver who started from pole. But behind Max Verstappen there was a real battle for positions, including between Ferrari teammates Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz.
Frederic Vasseur, the head of the Italian team, commented on some aspects of Saturday’s short race after the finish.
Frederic Vasseur: “It was a good race! There were many events in each round, they were different, some were more lucky, some less so. We saw that the speed difference was quite noticeable, even between riders from the same team, but overall everything went well for us.
I think we were able to keep a good pace from start to finish, although we had some problems in the first two laps, but after that we were able to improve and bounce back. Partly because the rear tires of our cars were slightly less worn than those of Mercedes…’
