Overall, the Spaniard was happy with how the race went at the Circuit of the Americas, but said he made some mistakes.

Ferrari had an impressive race in Austin, which ended in a double for the Italian team: Charles Leclerc won the Grand Prix and Carlos Sainz came second.

After the race, the Spanish driver discussed what was happening on the track and also answered the question: for him, this race was a missed victory or a good result.

“A mixture of both, no? First of all, I’m incredibly happy for the team and their efforts to take the double and earn so many points for the Constructors’ Championship, which I think is priority number one. Congratulations to Charles, of course, in a great race.” , – Carlos was quoted as saying by the official Formula 1 website.

“For my part, I feel like I was very fast all weekend, I was in the game and I did everything I could to win this race.”

“Unfortunately I was blocked a bit at the start, then in the first stint I had some problems with the power unit at the start and I wasn’t able to get it back but I’ll take the positive and keep fighting.”

“We really had very good conditions from the start. I felt comfortable in the car from the start. It was good to see because we expect that on tracks like this we have to face more challenges.”

“Being the fastest on the track during the race is of course something I’m very happy about and something we can look forward to for the rest of the year. I hope it happens more often and gives me another chance to win.”

Thanks to the double, Ferrari earned 43 points, which allowed it to close in on Red Bull and McLaren in the Constructors’ Championship.
