Marco: Ferrari feels pressure and makes mistakes

The innovations that Red Bull Racing brought to Imola made it possible to reduce the weight of the car, increase aerodynamic efficiency and achieve a landslide victory.

Red Bull adviser Helmut Marko told Sky Sport News that as the season progresses Ferrari will not be able to keep up with the pace of car refinement.

Helmut Marko: “It was important for us to win the race after the engine problems in Bahrain and Australia. Last time we won a double in Malaysia’16. Much time has passed since then. It was important to maintain high morale. The result shows that we are competitive. You just need to get everything lined up – and we’ll be on top.

Verstappen lost a lot of points twice, otherwise he would now lead the championship by a comfortable lead. But there are still many races ahead. The most important thing is that we make sure we have a fast car.

I don’t think Ferrari will be able to match our level of refinement of the car. In addition, they feel pressure from our side and they make mistakes. On Friday, Leclerc made two mistakes, on Sunday Sainz dropped out of the fight, after which Leclerc flew out.

This is a sporty and friendly fight between us and Ferrari. The season will be very interesting, but I hope that this time the title will not be decided in the last race, like last year.”
