Haas F1 achieved eight points in Mexico City to extend its lead over RB in the Constructors’ Championship…
Ayo Komatsuteam director: “I have no words! Another great result for our team. I’m happy that the hard work of every member of our team is paying off.
I’m happy for Kevin, he performed well in Austin, but we couldn’t get a result there on Sunday, but everything worked out here. He showed incredible speed in the second stint, overtaking Verstappen on the Red Bull and finishing just four seconds behind. This is probably Kevin’s best race I’ve seen.
Nico’s disappointment with ninth place is a good sign for the team. Today Kevin showed what the car is capable of, we will study the data to understand why Niko couldn’t perform the same.
I’m looking forward to Brazil and another sprint weekend to try and earn points again. Congratulations to everyone and thank you very much.”
Kevin Magnussen (7th): “Perfect day! We did everything well, the balance of the car was optimal, I had excellent control over the tires and could actively attack when necessary.
Seventh place is better than we had hoped. Piastri quickly broke through the peloton, I could almost keep him behind me.
It’s been a difficult year, but I feel like I’m slowly finding my rhythm and I hope to finish the season with points in the last four races.”
Nico Hulkenberg (9th): “A great day for the team – we earned points again with two cars. I’m very happy for Kevin, he had a fantastic weekend.
These eight points will help us enormously. It’s great that we are so competitive and constantly challenging for points. This speaks of the stability of the team and the car. I’m looking forward to the next races.”
