Liam Lawson: I’ve always wanted to perform at Interlagos

In the final round in Mexico City, RB riders Liam Lawson and Yuki Tsunoda did not earn any points. The team hopes to bounce back next weekend during the Grand Prix of São Paulo.

Liam Lawson: “Last weekend didn’t go the way we wanted, but I hope we can show the same pace as in Mexico City and earn points.

The stage will be held in a sprint format, so we will have a lot of races. Moreover, Brazil is working on a series in a row, so it will be a tough weekend.

Interlagos has a rich history. This is one of the tracks I’ve always wanted to race on, so I’m looking forward to my first race in Brazil.”

Yuki Tsunoda: “The positive results of the weekend in Mexico City include the fact that the latest improvements to the car have allowed us to take a good step forward in terms of speed, and now I want to turn this speed into a hassle-free weekend in Brazil and earn points.

Interlagos is an excellent circuit, which runs counter-clockwise, is narrow and winding, with ups and downs, such as the descent of Senna’s ‘like’, and the short lap keeps you constantly on your toes, as even the finish line is in reality a long bend is.

The asphalt has been repaved throughout the circuit and since this is a sprint weekend, we only need one hour of practice to get everything in order. I think that, as in Austin, Saturday’s sprint will be the best opportunity to evaluate long-distance speed.

The weather forecast for next weekend does not rule out precipitation. Rain can make the fight even more interesting!”
