Last Sunday, Alex Albon’s race in Mexico City ended within seconds of the start when he was involved in a nasty accident that was not his fault and he was simply a victim of the circumstances. In Brazil, the Williams driver obviously hopes to make amends…
Alex Albon: “The weekend in Mexico City was not successful, but we learned a lot there, so I remain positive because we have made progress, better understood the car’s characteristics and found the right approach to technical innovations. Of course I withdrew from the race, and I didn’t like that, because we had the chance to compete for points.
But this weekend we get another chance, because on the Brazilian circuit there can always be a chance to achieve success. It’s both the track itself and the surprises of the weather, so I think we can do well here.”
When Alex was asked if he was worried that Alpine would overtake his team in the Constructors’ Championship, whose lead had been reduced to three points, the Williams driver replied categorically: “No, it’s probably more worrying for James Vowles, our boss. And I am completely focused on my work.
Looking back on the last three races, I think that if our weekends had gone without any problems, we would have achieved much better results. First of all, we must try to avoid incidents in the first round, find the right rhythm and just work in our normal way. Then everything will be fine with us.”
