At a press conference in Sao Paulo, Yuki Tsunoda reiterated that he was ready to become Max Verstappen’s partner at Red Bull Racing.
Yuki Tsunoda: “Yes, I think I’m ready to move to Red Bull Racing, that’s for sure. So far Max remains the best driver in the championship and I always wanted to become his partner. He is a real master, so of course I would like to learn a lot from him.
But now I’m just completely focused on my work, although so far I haven’t been able to achieve the goals I set for myself. But we’ll see how things go.
So far I haven’t had much luck, but throughout my career there are always good and bad moments. But I try to be distracted as little as possible by failures, I try to pay maximum attention to the work on the track and I hope that luck smiles on me.
Although the races so far haven’t gone the way I would like, every race weekend brings new opportunities, and I try not to think about what has happened in recent weeks. Now we are fully focused on preparing for tomorrow’s sprint qualifying, and of course we will try to stay ahead of Haas.
This weekend we must try not to miss our chance. In Mexico City I didn’t qualify in the best way and that was of course my own fault (Yuki crashed his car last Saturday). But we hope we can achieve better results in the coming races – at least we will try to perform as well as Haas.”
