Only two teams presented their latest new products in the Brazilian phase of the season, and they are on opposite sides of the standings. These are McLaren, which is fighting for victory in both world championships, and Sauber, which is trying to at least open a points tally in the remaining races.
McLaren
The cars of Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri have new rear wings – according to the Woking team, this version of the wing is intended for circuits where moderate downforce is required, while obviously working more efficiently.
At the same time, the MCL38 in Sao Paulo will also feature an improved additional rear wing under the main wing.
Commentators and experts who saw the McLaren car in the pit lane of the Brazilian circuit call the new rear wing a ‘masterpiece’ – it looks so impressive. It is understood that the British team expects the new product to further increase its pace advantage over its rivals, especially Red Bull Racing and Ferrari.
Sauber
The Swiss team presented two new products. Firstly, the C44 has had its front suspension mounting points changed, which was done to improve the mechanical grip that the car’s chassis is responsible for. Additionally, these improvements would provide greater flexibility in mechanical settings.
Secondly, the cars have a new additional rear wing, designed taking into account the characteristics of the Sao Paulo circuit.
The cars of the remaining eight teams remained in the same versions as during the previous stage in Mexico City.
