Charles Leclerc finished fifth in Sao Paulo and has mixed feelings. Carlos Sainz had two accidents on Sunday, first in qualifying and then in the race, and doesn’t understand the reasons…
Charles Leclerc (5th): “A long and difficult race is behind us, today those who made no mistakes were on the podium. They deservedly took the lead.
I have mixed feelings about our breed. On the one hand, due to the settings chosen, it was difficult to keep the car on the track today, especially towards the end of the race. On the other hand, I finished ahead of both McLaren drivers, which was a pleasant surprise.
Now we go home to recover for the final series of three Grands Prix in a row, in which we will try to win the Constructors’ Championship.”
Carlos Sainz (meeting): “Two very strange and unpleasant incidents have occurred, the reasons for which are unknown to me. There were no warning signals from the car, no unusual sensations, so there was nothing I could do to avoid them.
Overtaking on this circuit is not easy and when starting from the pit lane it is always difficult to score points, especially if you don’t have a speed advantage for overtaking. My apologies to the team for two incidents. I hope I will perform stronger in the next phase.”
