This Sunday, Monaco will host the sixth round of the World Electric Car Championship, but on Thursday, April 28, the official presentation of the third-generation Formula E car (Gen3) will take place at the local yacht club.
The electric series will switch to such cars next season and now Gen3 vehicles will be presented to teams, racers, sponsors and VIP guests. Fans can follow the progress of the presentation online.
Jamie Reigl, Chief Executive Officer of Formula E: “The Gen3 is a huge step forward for both motorsport and the electric car industry in general. It is designed to show that high speeds, efficiency and environmental friendliness can be combined and complement each other without compromise.
The Gen3 is the most powerful, lightest and fastest electric race car ever made. We look forward to when it will be presented in Monaco – a place inextricably linked to the history of motorsport. And next year this car will be on display in all the cities of the world where Formula E races take place.”
Also this weekend, Monaco will host a conference with representatives from leading car manufacturers, the FIA and Formula E, who will discuss the prospects for the development of those motorsport categories in which electric vehicles participate. In particular, the future transition from Formula E to fourth-generation cars will also be discussed.
