After the Brazilian Grand Prix, the situation in the individual championship became more complicated for Lando Norris, but in the Constructors’ Championship, McLaren leads with a lead of 36 points over Ferrari and 49 over Red Bull. Team boss Andrea Stella considers winning the Constructors’ Championship a priority.
Andrea Stella: “Winning the Constructors’ Championship has always been our priority. Even if we were called upon to support one driver or another, this issue was of secondary importance compared to the points in the Constructors’ Championship.
Probably the Vegas circuit is more suitable for Ferrari and we should be more competitive in the last two races. I think for the sake of Lando and Oscar we will try to win the next races, but we have to analyze everything and act strategically to win the Constructors’ Championship. This is the most important thing.
As far as the Drivers’ Championship goes, I don’t think Lando was under any particular pressure. To be honest, we enjoyed this quest.
Sometimes it seems from the outside: “Oh, there was an error.” But when our tires locked up in Brazil, I wasn’t thinking about the drivers, but about why the car tires kept locking up in such conditions. So I don’t think pressure was an important factor.”
