Not long ago we talked about rumors that Robert Schwartzman would make his debut season in IndyCar in 2025. This has been officially confirmed today: the 25-year-old driver has signed a contract with the Prema team and will become Callum Ilott’s partner.
Rene Rosinowner of Prema Racing: “We are pleased to welcome Robert back to the Prema family. We have had exceptional seasons together, winning many races and taking the Formula 3 title in 2019, and we have enjoyed working with him very much.
Robert is an exceptionally talented driver and I believe that by working together we will quickly overcome the learning curve that awaits us in our debut season in IndyCar. I can’t wait to see him and Callum together under the Prema banner.’
Robert Schwartzman: “I am happy to return to Prema to start a new chapter in IndyCar. Everything will be new for us, so there will be a lot of work, but at the same time it will be fun. I think successful times await us.
IndyCar is very competitive because there are a lot of strong drivers in the series – it should be great to compete with them. I’ve never raced on ovals before and mastering them will be a real new challenge.
Prema has achieved a lot in the past and I think my experience in Formula 1 and endurance racing will help us make rapid progress and gain speed.”
