Perez remains at Red Bull thanks to new sponsors

Sergio Perez will continue to compete for Red Bull Racing in 2025, the Spanish newspaper Marca writes based on sources.

All assumptions that the Mexican’s Formula 1 career was about to end, and that he might not even make it to the end of this championship, turned out to be nothing more than rumors, none of which were confirmed.

“You will see me in Las Vegas and you will see me next year,” said Sergio during the Brazilian race weekend and his confidence is based on facts, even if Christian Horner, the team boss, is not yet talking about Helmut Marko and Jos Verstappen , the father of the current world champion, openly hints that Max still needs a partner.

According to the Spanish newspaper, Perez will receive even stronger financial support in 2025, in addition to the previous sponsors he will have new, and very serious, ones, and reportedly Red Bull has already given him the green light to launch a new line of various branded and souvenir products.

Such agreements are always made in advance, as they must be approved by the team’s marketing department and of course personally endorsed by Horner.

It is not yet known who this new sponsor is, but Perez will, as in previous years, be supported by companies such as Claro, Telcel and Infinitum, which are part of the business empire of Mexican billionaire Carlos Slim, and by Interprotección, an international insurance broker.

And the list goes on: Banorte, Kit-Kat, Jalisco, ESPN’s Latin American division and even Uber. All these sponsors are only directly connected to the driver and if his position in the team were to be threatened, they would curtail their business partnership programs with Red Bull Racing.

Christian Horner is responsible for the sporting management at Red Bull Racing, Marco is responsible for cooperation with the drivers, but both report to the management of Red Bull, where Chalerm Yuvidhya is the majority shareholder, one of the richest people in Thailand.

It is quite clear that in the case of Perez purely business calculations prevail: his sponsors pay the team, according to experts’ estimates, about $ 30 million to Liam Lawson, for all his racing earnings, and cannot boast of such powerful financial support The fact remains: Sergio’s contract with Red Bull Racing does not formally expire until next year.
