Jack Douhan, driving last year’s Alpine car adapted to the new wheel size for the 2026 season, conducted two days of testing under the Pirelli program.
The tests took place on an artificially watered track in Magny-Cours using slicks, intermediate and rain tires and were dedicated to working with prototype compounds for the 2026 season, when the regulations in Formula 1 will change.
On Wednesday the program had to be shortened due to problems with the car – the young Australian completed only 46 laps, but on Thursday the lost time was partially compensated – 106 laps with a best time of 1:16.641 on slicks and 1:16.641 on slicks and 1: 27,352 on rain tires.
For the Italian manufacturer, this is the third and final test of the 2026 tires this season. Before that, Pirelli worked with slick prototypes in Barcelona and Mugello. Testing will resume next year.
