The RB team was the first to release a preview dedicated to the Las Vegas Grand Prix. Yuki Tsunoda and Liam Lawson spoke about their expectations for the upcoming stage.
Yuki Tsunoda: “The long break after the stage in Brazil allowed me to return home and perform several sessions on the simulator in preparation for the last series of the season. Las Vegas has an unusual circuit, very long for a city, and with many slow turns. Therefore, when adjusting the car, it is necessary to find a compromise between downforce, which helps with serious braking at the end of the three long straights and ensures good grip on the asphalt during acceleration, and resistance, so as not to lose too much. lots of speed on the very long straights.
It is very cold at night, so one of the big challenges will be keeping brake and tire temperatures within range, not only during the race distance, but also during the fast qualifying lap.
Last year riders took part in a large number of off-track events. I’m curious to see what the organizers have in store for us this year!”
Liam Lawson: “I can’t wait to race in Las Vegas – in an iconic city on a unique track that looks quite challenging with several serious braking points. The track is fast and the very long straight makes overtaking possible.
Apparently we will experience cold weather, same as last year. There’s no doubt it will be a challenge, but I’m really looking forward to the night race.
Last year I was in Las Vegas, saw the race and wanted to participate as well. It’s just incredible to go to Las Vegas this week knowing I’m going to start.”
