Faced with setbacks after a long period of dominance, Mercedes has been struggling with car problems for several years. There is only one season left until the end of the current regulations, but Mercedes driver George Russell admits there is no complete solution yet.
George Russell: “The biggest problem now is the sudden loss of stability. You don’t feel confident going into a corner. At some point it doesn’t fail, allowing you to do a really great lap, then nothing seems to have changed, but on the next lap it suddenly loses efficiency. Without a doubt, this car is the most unpredictable in a long time.
In 2022, when we were plagued by problems with the build-up, it was much more difficult to get close to the border and stability disappeared into the background, only to assert itself now when the build-up is no longer there.”
