Lewis Hamilton has arrived in Las Vegas, where the first stage of the final series of the season will take place. However, immediately after the finish of the Sao Paulo Grand Prix, the seven-time world champion gave a speech in radio conversations with the team that was considered by many as a farewell speech.
“Disastrous weekend, boys,” Hamilton said at the time. – There has never been such a bad car. Thanks for trying to fix something and to all the guys for the pit stop. If this is my last performance, it’s a shame it wasn’t the best, but I’m grateful.”
In Las Vegas, Lewis confirmed that after finishing the last race he was indeed considering ending the season early and skipping the final three stages.
“At that moment I really had that feeling,” said the seven-time world champion. – I actually didn’t feel like coming back after such a weekend, but it seems very natural to me.
When you spend a season like that, you feel disappointed. I’m pretty sure a season like this won’t happen again. At the very least I will make sure this doesn’t happen again. “I’m not feeling my best right now, but I’m in Las Vegas, my feet are firmly on the ground and I’m ready to give it my all in the last races of the season.”
Hamilton said of Mercedes’ prospects this weekend: “It won’t be the best stage for us. We constantly have problems with tire temperature. In hot weather conditions, the rubber overheats, and at low temperatures, like here, there are problems with warming up, so it will be difficult. But I think everyone will face this problem.”
