For Williams, the first day of the weekend in Vegas was not a success – due to problems with the fuel system, Alex Albon completed the second training session early…
Franco Colapinto (18th): “It’s an interesting experience to drive around the track for the first time under the lights of Las Vegas. Everything went well in the first practice, although the track was very muddy.
The grip here is low and in cold weather it is difficult to warm up the tires and keep them within their operating range. We will analyze everything and understand which way we need to go tomorrow to achieve more.”
Alex Albon (20th): “On the first day of the weekend I didn’t drive enough distance, although on this track every kilometer is important – you have to have confidence in the car.
We will solve the fuel system problem, but tomorrow we have to get the most out of the third training session to compensate for the lost time. We have to figure out how to do better, but to do that it is important that the tires work, and we haven’t done that yet.”
