Charles Leclerc set the fifth fastest time, losing almost half a second to the owner of the best time of the second training session, Lewis Hamilton. The Ferrari driver noted that the car’s speed in Las Vegas did not meet the team’s expectations.
Carlos Sainz showed the fourth result and agreed with his partner that the car had no speed.
Carlos Sainz (4th): “Tough day in Vegas. Due to the characteristics of the track and the low grip on the asphalt, the feeling of driving the car was strange. In the second training we changed some things in the settings, but we are still not satisfied with the speed – we still have to work.
Hopefully, by analyzing the data we have collected, we will find the areas where we can improve the most and be in better shape for qualifying. The race pace is good, but there is still a lot to do.”
Charles Leclerc (5th): “Not the best day for us, but apparently the others were having a hard time too. We are not as strong as we expected before the weekend.
In cold weather it is difficult to warm up the tires. We expected this, so now we have to get to work. Let’s see what we can do tomorrow.”
