Dutch pilot Max Verstappen caught up with the Frenchman Alain Prost and the German Sebastian Vettel by the number of championship titles in Formula 1.
On Saturday, the 27-year-old Red Bull driver finished fifth at the Las Vegas Grand Prix and became the 2024 season champion sooner than expected.
Verstappen won the championship for the fourth time in a row, with Prost (1985, 1986, 1989, 1993) and Vettel (2010, 2011, 2012, 2013) also winning four times each. Britain’s Lewis Hamilton and Germany’s Michael Schumacher each became champions seven times, and Argentina’s Juan Manuel Fangio won five times.
