Alpine hoped for more in Vegas, but did not earn any points. Pierre Gasly dropped out due to problems with the power unit and Esteban Ocon had to make an unscheduled pit stop.
Esteban Ocon (17th): “It’s just not our day. I finished far from the top ten. We have to see what happened at the first pit stop, which for me actually became a ride down the pit lane. It is very unfortunate that this happened. We didn’t take our chance, even though I was sure I could earn points. We will try to perform better in Qatar.

Pierre Gasly (meeting): “Everyone on the team is angry. After a good qualifying the race was not successful. We knew it would be difficult, and ultimately the collapse prevented us from demonstrating our potential.
We will draw conclusions and try to reach the same speed in Qatar next week. We have a goal, we will do everything we can to return to the fight in better shape.
