Haas F1 is just one point ahead of Alpine in the Constructors’ Championship – a position that Kevin Magnussen and Nico Hulkenberg are determined to maintain.
Kevin Magnussen: “The race in Qatar is the most difficult of the season. The unique high-speed circuit is more suitable for motorcyclists than Formula 1 cars. It’s smooth in its own way, like you’re not braking for a turn but floating from one to the next.
The last stage with the Saturday sprint of this season is just around the corner and changing time zones will not be an easy task. Last year it was the other way around, we traveled from Qatar to America – this is unavoidable, it’s hard to adapt to, you just have to survive.”
Nico Hulkenberg: “Last year’s race in Qatar was the first since my return where I felt unwell – the heat and humidity towards the finish were prohibitive.
This season the stage will take place almost two months later, so the conditions will be better. The track has an interesting configuration, is smooth, has a good rhythm and since the final sprint of the season awaits us, we get more points than normal.”
