Ralf Schumacher: Famous racer is invited to Cadillac

Ralf Schumacher commented on Cadillac’s upcoming debut in Formula 1. The former driver believes that the team will invite one experienced driver and one debutant from the United States in 2026.

“I’m almost certain they will rely on American talent,” Ralf shared his thoughts on German Sky. “On the other hand, the truth is that IndyCar is not at the level of Formula 1. We saw this in the example of a large number of test drivers. But that doesn’t mean there isn’t some super talent out there that hasn’t yet been found.

I suspect they will bring in a big name driver for their debut season to give them a starting point. Starting from scratch is incredibly difficult and that’s why they need someone they can rely on.

It will take time, but General Motors is a huge company, and everything they do will eventually work out. When such a world player wants to enter Formula 1, this is important for a championship that is still in its growth phase.

I’m looking forward to having eleven teams, because there are extra places for young riders. Everyone knows how difficult it is to get into Formula 1 when there are only twenty cars in the championship. Now there will be another 10% more.”
