Fabio Bellosi is responsible for assembling cars at Ferrari and before the Qatar stage the team’s press service asked him three questions, two of which are directly related to the upcoming race weekend.
Question: What difficulties can be associated with the loads that the car chassis experiences on the Qatar track?
Fabio Bellosi: This is a very difficult race, due to both the characteristics of the circuit and the extreme heat typical of the local desert climate. Accordingly, everything related to engine and brake cooling systems becomes critical, and the approach to solving all these problems must be thought out to the smallest detail.
In addition, cars on the Losail circuit experience very high dynamic loads, which affect the chassis structure and tire performance.
Q: What aspects of fitness will be particularly important during the final two stages of the season, which take place in the Gulf region, and how has the team prepared for this?
Fabio Bellosi: During the last two races it is important to stay focused, because at the end of the season psychological concentration can easily weaken.
The body has to cope with sudden changes in time zones, and besides, we were transported from the very cold weather of Las Vegas to the extreme heat of Qatar.
Taking every opportunity to rest and being able to adapt quickly is key, so logistically we have tried to ensure that everyone has less to do at the start of the week.
Q: You travel all over the world representing the Ferrari team – what does that mean to you?
Fabio Bellosi: Of course we are proud, because this is a great honor, but also a serious responsibility. We represent such a prestigious brand and everyone who works on our team; We are ambassadors of the Ferrari brand and are incredibly proud of that.
