Williams’ team has failed to earn any points in the last three stages, but Alex Albon and Franco Colapinto will be hoping to break this streak of failure at the Qatar Grand Prix.
Alex Albon: “The last few months have been difficult for me and the team, but the season is not over yet and I hope we will end it with a strong result. We go to Qatar for the last sprint stage of the season. Last year we performed successfully in the sprint and I hope that luck will return and we will show a good result again.
The circuit is relatively new to many drivers and there will be plenty of opportunities to compete throughout the weekend. In addition, thanks to the change in the date of the stage, this time the temperatures will not be as high as last year, so the reliability and speed characteristics of the car should be slightly different for all of us.”
Franco Colapinto: “I’m ready for the penultimate race of the season in Qatar. This is the last sprint weekend and I will have minimal time to get to know the new track. On the other hand, in the sprint there will be an extra opportunity to compete for points.
The goal is to get the most out of a single workout and find the optimal settings. I’m sure the heat and humidity will play a role. The entire team will continue to do its best to finish the season as strong as possible.”
